Swine Social Tickets, A Perfect Mother’s Day Gift
All the moms in your life probably would like nothing better than tickets, available here and now, for The ’82 Project’s Third Annual Swine Social. Set for June 27 at Kletzsch Park, this annual event includes a softball tournament between teams of several Whitefish Bay High School graduating classes. It has been a blast each year and keeps getting bigger and better. If you want to donate goods or services for this blow-out event, or want info on coordinating a team to play in the softball tourney, contact Geoff Heeren. Team slots are filling up, so please contact Geoff soon!
Another Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Michelle Brafman’s New Novel
Our classmate, Michelle Brafman, has released a stunning debut novel! Titled Washing the Dead, it really is a perfect Mother’s Day gift, focusing on multi-generational relationships between mothers and daughters. You will recognize some landmarks Michelle references.
You can purchase the book at Amazon, and you can learn more about Michelle’s writing at her website.
Scholarship Night, May 20th
The ’82 Project CHOICE Scholarship will be awarded at the WFBHS Senior Awards ceremony in the high school auditorium on May 20th at 6:30pm. Each year, it is a highly emotional presentation, honoring a graduating senior for exhibiting the traits of the CHOICE acronym: Community, humanity, originality, integrity, character and excellence. We try to make a night of it, so if you want to attend, contact Beth (Brahe) LaFond to stay updated on plans to meet up before, during and after the awards presentation.
Welcome New Board Members: Lisa Schmidman and Mary Jane Rosenbaum Whiting
The board position we mentioned in our March Update drew enough interest that we appointed two new members: Lisa Schmidman and Mary Jane Rosenbaum Whiting. They already had done yeoman duty for The ’82 Project, and we could not be prouder and happier to welcome them!
